28-year-old Australian, Robbie Maddison is always looking to go bigger. In years past, Maddo has completed a number of awesome jumps that would have made pioneering stuntman Evel Knievel proud. In 2007 and 2008 Maddison set three world records for distance jumped on a motorcycle, all the way to 107 metres (350 feet). In 2009 he celebrated New Years Eve in Las Vegas by jumping up 30 metres (98 feet high) onto the Arc de Triomph in front of Paris Las Vegas, and then jumped back down to ground level. Also in 2009, Maddo backflipped the Tower Bridge over the Thames River while the drawbridge was open! Now this….
Many Daredevils have wanted to jump across the Corinth Canal. A huge gap that is as wide as it is deep. The Australian was the first to succeed. Riding a Honda service 500 (2 Stroke) Maddison rode through a turn-filled approach past a pool, across a soccer field, and past a chicken coop to get up to his launch speed of around 80 mph. On Thursday morning (around 8am Local Time) Robbie Maddison made his jump. At the peek hight of his jump, Maddison was over 300 feet above the canals surface and had to clear over 270 ft. Ramp to ramp, so crazy…..

RED BULL RONNIE RENNER FREERIDE TOUR

Say that five times fast. Well, round one of the R.B.R.R.F.R.T. is under our belts. Ocotillo wells was the first location, and although it was windy quite a bit for our freeride trip, I still had a blast riding with some of the legends of the sport and finding new stuff that has never been hit at this oldie but goodie riding spot. The very same film crew as the legendary Great Ride Open series on Fuel T.V. was out to capture all of the action and riding. Also with all the same top freeriders, Myles Richmond, Tommy Clowers, Ronnie Renner, Drake McElroy, Dustin Nowak, and Myself being added to the list, the show will for sure be something fun and entertaining for all to watch!! This event isn’t just a film shoot though, it is an event for ALL people to come out and ride, then relax and hang out with some of their favorite riders while getting free drinks and entertainment at the Red Bull tent! So make plans to come out and watch some killer Free Riding and have a good ol time at some of California’s best riding locations (Dates of events Above).
